SkyCity agrees to $67m penalty as licence decision looms
Adelaide casino owner SkyCity has agreed to pay $67 million for historical breaches of anti-money-laundering and counter-terrorism laws as it prepares for the outcome of an inquiry into whether it should keep its licence.
SkyCity, which also owns casinos in New Zealand, said on Friday it had agreed to a proposed penalty with the Australian Transaction Reports and Analysis Centre, admitting it had broken the law by not carrying out customer due diligence with higher-risk customers.
