Caledonia-backed gaming giant Light & Wonder is eyeing the United Arab Emirates and parts of Asia for expansion as it continues its push to take market share from poker machine heavyweights.

Light & Wonder chief executive Matt Wilson has dismissed concerns about the financial impact of a preliminary injunction won by rival Aristocrat Leisure in the US that has stopped the rollout of its popular dragon-themed game, arguing the company can dominate North America by offering gamblers alternative products.
