Man arrested in Sydney’s west over clubs data breach

Police arrested a 46-year-old man over threats to share personal details of more than 1 million patrons of pubs and clubs in NSW, stolen as part of a data breach of a third-party IT provider.

The NSW Police Cybercrime Squad arrested the man in Fairfield West in Sydney at 4.20pm on Thursday. He was expected to be charged with blackmail.
