Labor slams the NRL’s ‘deeply concerning’ Sportsbet tie-up

Communications Minister Michelle Rowland says it is “deeply concerning” that the country’s largest bookmaker failed to disclose it funded an NRL-backed gaming app that had spent millions of dollars on television advertising without gambling disclosures.

Ms Rowland, who last year said she would not take political donations from Sportsbet, owned by London-listed Flutter Entertainment, said the government expected online bookmakers to “act transparently”.
