Australia’s director class received a stark warning from a senior judge as the corporate regulator wraps up its case against the former board of troubled casino operator Star Entertainment: if you pocket the cash, do the work.

Justice Michael Lee, known for sudden flourishes, warned he has grown frustrated by the Star directors’ argument that they should not have the burden of going through hundreds of pages of documents that may have shed light on money laundering by junket operators.
