Eight former executives and board members of casino group SkyCity Entertainment are in the sights of an investor suing them in a court action over anti-money laundering failures, which culminated in the company paying a $67 million penalty.
SkyCity shareholder Stephen Wright lodged an application in the NSW Supreme Court seeking approval to proceed with the case to recoup some or all of the regulatory fine, which he claims occurred on the defendants’ watch. SkyCity is the operator of casinos and entertainment precincts in Adelaide and across New Zealand.
