Punters on gaming tables at The Star Entertainment Group's new landmark Queen's Wharf casino in Brisbane will be taxed at two-thirds of the rate of its other casino in Sydney.
In an announcement on Monday, The Star – which has changed its name from Echo Entertainment – will pay $1 billion to the Queensland government over the next 17 years as part of its $3 billion Queen's Wharf integrated resort and casino project.
