Just three days after Crown Resorts was found to be unfit to run its Melbourne casino, newly minted Crown director Bruce Carter staged the gambling giant’s first vigorous resistance to a key recommendation from the Finkelstein inquiry.

Giving evidence to the West Australian royal commission into Crown’s Burswood casino in Perth, Mr Carter slammed the proposal designed to ensure Crown Melbourne was dominated by directors independent of the controlling ASX-listed company.
