Plunging commodity prices have made investing in the resources sector a dangerous game.
But Ben Cleary's Tribeca Global Natural Resources fund, which employs a long and short strategy, returned 19.1 per cent in financial 2015 and 4.1 per cent in September, when the commodity producers index was down more than 10 per cent. Some of the fund's recent wins include shorting Glencore and buying Fortescue Metals Group's unsecured corporate bonds.
