Long-serving Queensland Investment Corporation chief executive Damien Frawley will retire from the global fund and asset manager next year and has ruled out a return to the executive leadership ranks.

Mr Frawley, the former chief executive of BlackRock Australia, has been at QIC for nine years and will stay until a successor has been appointed, which is expected in early 2022.
