PwC survives Macquarie audit review
PwC has survived a review at financial services giant Macquarie Group that threatened to cut the professional services firm off from some of its most lucrative audit work.
PwC’s role as auditor was reviewed amid a wide-reaching reputational crisis stemming from an investigation in The Australian Financial Review that revealed a former consulting partner had shared confidential government information with clients to help side-step their tax obligations.
