Perpetual sues former wealth adviser who defected to Morgan Stanley

Perpetual has alleged one of its former senior wealth advisers who jumped to a major rival is poaching its high-net-worth clients, asking courts to prevent him from speaking to the investment firm’s customers.

Former Perpetual partner Daniel Elias was poached by Morgan Stanley Wealth Management in May and began work in August as a senior vice president. He had worked at Perpetual for five years and oversaw a team of advisers catering to wealthy people with at least $5 million to invest.
