Budget insurance saves Medibank from customer exodus

Medibank Private chief executive Craig Drummond has heralded a "significant turn around" in the health insurer's fortunes, after its budget brand AHM helped it beat industry trends and grow its customer base.
It comes as the industry as a whole continues to haemorrhage customers, with younger Australians ditching private health cover and falling back on Medicare, put off by premiums increasing far ahead of wages and inflation.
