‘Looming market failure’: KPMG warns on disaster insurance

A “market failure” is looming amid doubts that people will be able to afford insurance in some increasingly disaster-prone areas, advisory group KPMG has warned.
Preventative measures are required as climate change threatens to worsen the wild weather devastating such areas, KPMG said. Some equity analysts also question whether major insurers might lose more customers as premiums jump.
