Let’s be ‘smarter’ not ‘harder’ on white collar crime

It is a myth that judges go easy on white collar offenders, and long jail sentences are not always the answer for white collar crime.

I have spent much of the past decade in prison. In both the United States and right across Australia.

Mercifully, these visits have been in my capacity as a researcher rather than inmate. In the process, I have spoken to hundreds of male and female white-collar offenders to investigate their thinking patterns.
