Keating, Kelty abandon 15pc super ambition

The architects of Australia’s $3.3 trillion superannuation system, Paul Keating and Bill Kelty, have abandoned a key plank of their original retirement income scheme – a 15 per cent compulsory super contribution.

This position goes directly against Labor Party policy, as reaffirmed by assistant Treasurer Stephen Jones in June following the election of the Albanese government.
