Making the cut and being selected for one of a handful of investment banking graduate roles is notoriously difficult. At Goldman Sachs, about 300,000 people apply each year for 3000 graduate positions, keen to get experience at the Wall Street firm. There are many ways to make the grade but university medals and a series of internships certainly help.
Those who have snared a graduate position usually don’t start until February. Many who have been offered one have already been through an internship program across the street, for which the summer intake is starting now.
