When former Carlyle Group rainmaker Jay Sammons teamed up with celebrity-entrepreneur Kim Kardashian to launch a private equity firm, the pair wanted companies that could make it in Australia.

SKKY Partners’ first investment, in condiments brand TRUFF, was on show at David Jones in Sydney’s CBD on Sunday, and Mr Sammons was in town to see the display and determine whether other prospective investments could succeed in the country, he told The Australian Financial Review.
