Former Macquarie Group boss Nicholas Moore has been tapped by the federal government to lead an independent review into the “effectiveness and capability” of the Australian Securities and Investments Commission.
Mr Moore’s appointment as the first chairman of the Financial Regulator Assessment Authority signals that Treasurer Josh Frydenberg wants significant business experience and a new corporate lens to improve the performance of the country’s financial regulators.
