Bendigo Bank says lending to farmers, regions to grow

Bendigo and Adelaide Bank chief executive Marnie Baker says demand for credit from farmers and agribusinesses in the regional centres will revive in the second half, with the bank tipping a return to system growth in its business bank.

After a disappointing result from the agri and business bank in the first half, which Ms Baker said was largely down to seasonal factors and aggressive competition on price, the bank said it would deliver a stronger second half performance as cashed up farmers spend more.
