Woodside Energy has yielded to investors’ demands to be given another say on its climate strategy, but the concession has failed to win over proxy adviser CGI Glass Lewis, which is still recommending shareholders vote against both Woodside’s remuneration report and the re-election of one director.
Investor dissatisfaction with Woodside’s emissions strategy had led to several shareholder groups resolving to vote against Woodside’s remuneration report, and the re-election of longstanding director Ian Macfarlane, a former federal resources minister, at the April 28 annual shareholder meeting.
