Western Australia shouldn't be expected to help rescue eastern states from their gas "policy failures" without getting something in return, says West Australian Treasurer Ben Wyatt.
As the federal government launched a pre-feasibility study into the potential for a cross-country pipeline to link Western Australia's gas resources with the east coast market, Mr Wyatt said he was reluctant to cooperate unless the solution could benefit Western Australia.
