Private sector demands action on pathway to 2050
Achieving net zero emissions by 2050 will be critical to limiting global average temperature increases and preventing dangerous climate change, but the Australian government needs to act now to achieve that target, which would unleash investment opportunities of billions of dollars.
All states and territories (except for Western Australia) have a net zero emissions target of net zero emissions by 2050, or earlier in the case of the ACT, which has set the target year of 2045. All except NSW and Western Australia have a renewable energy target.
