Origin Energy reported a 7 per cent increase in third-quarter revenues from its stake in the Australia Pacific LNG (APLNG) project on Friday, as Australia’s largest retailer continues to profit from soaring global demand for the gas.
While gas prices have eased globally in recent months, demand remains elevated which has kept pricing well above long-term average levels. Prices soared last year when Russia’s invasion of Ukraine saw Europe desperately seek alternative supplies.
