Investors ought to show fossil fuel companies ‘understanding’: TCorp

Investors cannot expect companies to have all the answers about how they will get to net zero, especially years out from 2050, says Alexis Cheang, the head of investment stewardship at TCorp, which manages $110 billion on behalf of the NSW state government.

“I think we need to be humble and recognise that the journey to net zero is riddled with uncertainty,” she told The Australian Financial Review ESG Summit in response to a question about the vote against Woodside’s climate action plan in April.
