Australians could face higher power prices for some time as part of the transition to a low-emissions economy, energy regulators have warned.

The Energy Security Board’s first annual update on the health of the National Electricity Market found the grid required “massive physical investment and wide-ranging policy reforms” which will put ongoing pressure on prices.
