Gas industry envisages ‘carbon carpool’ with capture and storage

Nine net zero zones could be created across Australia where more than 90 per cent of emissions from heavy industry could be neutralised through shared infrastructure for carbon capture and storage.

That is the concept aired in a new report by the oil and gas industry association APPEA, which is stepping up advocacy for the controversial technology in the face of mounting pressure to cut emissions in LNG and in other heavy industrial processes.
