EnergyAustralia boss Mark Collette has admitted that adding green hydrogen to the fuel mix for the company’s new gas power plant in NSW in 2025 is looking increasingly difficult.
Government support for the $300 million Tallawarra B project was provided to enable the 320-megawatt generator to be able to run on 5 per cent green hydrogen, but the industry has developed more slowly than anticipated, and Mr Collette said the company has yet to determine any viable supplies from the local region.
