Data centre ambitions no obstacle to net zero: CDC CEO

The head of one of Australia’s biggest data centre operators has declared that the nation can “absolutely” build world-class data centres and still reach its goal of net zero emissions, pointing to the substantial unused capacity in the existing power system.

Greg Boorer, founder and chief executive of CDC Data Centres, said that for much of the day in Australia there was too much electricity, due to surplus renewables.
