Carbon capture projects in doubt after Labor pulls funding

The future of more than a dozen carbon capture and storage projects are up in the air after the Albanese government cut $250 million in funding in Tuesday’s budget.

While federal Energy and Climate Change Minister Chris Bowen said the private sector had to go it alone on carbon capture and storage projects, the cancellation of grants – which range from $5 million to $30 million – has raised the prospect they may no longer proceed.
