Asia’s hydrogen hopes in Australia suffer another blow

Korea Electric Power Corporation has failed to win support from the federal government’s Hydrogen Headstart program for a large project proposed at Newcastle, another blow to Asia’s hopes of securing local clean fuel.

The Port of Newcastle hydrogen project proposed by the Korean utility was one of the largest put forward involving a 750-megawatt electrolyser and plans to deliver about 600,000 tonnes of green ammonia every year.
