Senators have called for strict labelling rules for plant-based meat products, and want the competition watchdog to review their placement in stores and online.

A cross-party committee looking at definitions of meat and other animal products believes “food categories have increasingly become blurred and claims on plant-based proteins have not been clearly regulated”.
