Farmers needed for net zero: Grattan Institute

Farmers must be enlisted in the race to net zero emissions by 2050 and governments should step up to help them curb rising agriculture emissions in a sector already exposed to harsh climate change and the prospect of international carbon tariffs, The Grattan Institute says.

The challenge for agriculture is that it is one of the sectors most vulnerable to climate change yet it faces difficulty in reducing emissions which mostly come from grazing cattle and sheep.
