Farmers have $6b sitting in tax haven accounts

Australia’s farmers have almost $6 billion sitting in tax haven accounts and most are financially secure despite a much smaller national grain harvest and a wild ride for cattle producers over the past 12 months.
The latest data from the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry shows farmers had $5.99 billion in bank accounts under the federal government’s farm management deposits scheme at the end of January.
