Farmer turns against Santos coal-seam gas project

A Narrabri farmer says he has been converted from a 100 per cent supporter of the Pilliga gas project to a 100 per cent opponent by what he describes as the developer’s ‘mind numbing’ spin.

A NSW farmer says he has switched from being a supporter of the state’s most controversial coal seam gas project to a staunch opponent by the developer’s deceptive behaviour.

Ron Campey, who operates a mixed farm 10 kilometres north of Narrabri in northern NSW, said he had purchased half a million dollars worth of shares in Eastern Star Gas , the former operator bought by Santos . He remains a Santos shareholder.
