The market value of agribusiness Wellard has more than doubled after the company moved to sell one of its two remaining livestock carriers.

Wellard stock closed at 3.7¢ on Monday, up more than 117 per cent, in a boost for long-suffering shareholders who include cattle baron and winemaker Paul Holmes à Court.
