Another annual general meeting, another apology – well, sort of.

Just days after Westpac’s outgoing chairman Lindsay Maxsted spent the best part of six hours apologising for putting children at risk through failings in its financial crime systems, Woolworths chief executive Gordon Cairns addressed the fact Woolworths has underpaid thousands of staff by as much as $300 million.
