Scentre’s seamless CEO succession owes a debt to Frank Lowy
Scentre Group chairman Brian Schwartz spent two years finding the right successor to CEO Peter Allen, who is being replaced by internal candidate Elliott Rusanow.
Although it is three years since the Lowy family severed links with Scentre Group, it is not hard to find Westfield founder Frank Lowy’s people management skills in Scentre’s latest chief executive appointment.
The highly rated Peter Allen is being replaced as CEO by Elliott Rusanow, who joined Westfield in 1999 and worked his way up to be the chief financial officer before becoming Scentre’s CFO in 2019.
