The airline’s chief executive has done an impressive job handling juggling customers, investors, staff and the broad community. This attack will make the balancing act harder.

You can never really relax in the aviation game. Even when everything is running smoothly, a crisis can appear from nowhere – a safety issue, a freak weather event, a terrorist attack, the outbreak of an infectious disease no one has ever heard of.

Or, in the case of Qantas chief executive Vanessa Hudson, a cyberattack that has put the records of 6 million customers at risk.
