The COVID-19 crisis sweeping through the city’s aged care sector has become the painful heart of our second wave. Aged care residents and staff were key drivers of the record 723 cases in Victoria on Thursday, with the total number of cases linked to aged care climbing to 913, and almost 50 deaths.
