Fresh COVID-19 fears in China compound Musk’s own goal at Tesla

Elon Musk’s Twitter takeover has weighed on Tesla for months. But now investors have a new worry as China’s reopening hits a speed bump. 

There’s no question that Elon Musk’s determined efforts to blow up $US44 billion ($67 billion) via his ridiculous takeover of Twitter have weighed heavily on shares in electric vehicle giant Tesla in recent months.

But for Tesla investors, there is a more immediate threat on the horizon: China’s weakening economy, and its lurch back towards COVID-zero settings.
