Coca-Cola Amatil's board make Coke pay up
Coca-Cola Amatil's board of directors deserve praise for not rolling over in the face of earlier low-ball bids from Coca-Cola's European Partners.
Minority shareholders of Coca-Cola Amatil can be thankful their board of directors had the guts to push back against pressure from the Coca-Cola Company in the United States to sell the company cheaply.
The efforts of the board, led by Ilana Atlas, have ensured that minority shareholders will earn about $1.4 billion more than they would have under a previous low-ball offer.
