Boral is ASX’s biggest cash box
Boral has given shareholders a roller-coaster ride over the past 30 years and made some look fondly at the golden years when Sir Eric Neal delivered 14 years of successive earnings increases.
Shareholders in building and construction materials group Boral will sigh in desperation when they hear the claim by one of the company’s former senior executives that the last really great chief executive of the business was Sir Eric Neal.
That is not necessarily a criticism of the five chief executives who served the company following Neal’s retirement in 1987: Bruce Kean, Tony Berg, Rod Pearse, Mark Selway and Mike Kane.
