  • The number of major online marketplaces has doubled in two years. 
  • eBay is the largest, with 11.3 million unique visitors a month.
  • But Amazon Australia is growing fast, with Fulfilment by Amazon a key drawcard. 

Brisbane-based appliances distributor Astivita was slowly going out of business before it started selling on Amazon 16 months ago.

Sales had fallen from more than $38 million in 2010 to $6 million in 2017 as suppliers started bypassing Astivita and going direct to retailers.
