Banking royal commission: NAB CEO Andrew Thorburn defends legacy as Hayne pressure builds

National Australia Bank chief Andrew Thorburn has cancelled his planned long service leave to deal with the fallout of the banking royal commission.

NAB said in an ASX statement on Tuesday morning before the market opened that Mr Thorburn, who was lashed in Monday's final report for his evasive performance in the witness box last November, would lead the bank's response "personally and visibly".
