Labor leader Anthony Albanese said it was too early to commit to implementing legislated tax cuts for high income earners due to the deteriorating state of the federal budget.
Speaking at The Australian Financial Review Business Summit, Mr Albanese said Labor had been vindicated when it warned last year against legislating expensive tax cuts over the long term based on assumptions the budget would return to surplus.
