Two of Australia's leading female non-executive directors have weighed in on the issue of office relationships following Seven West Media chief executive Tim Worner's admission he was involved in an "inappropriate relationship" with a woman at work.

Newly appointed Reserve Bank director Carol Schwartz and Wesfarmers director and former president of Chief Executive Women, Diane Smith-Gander, say there is nothing new about sexual relationships occurring at the office.
