Woman stabbed in abdomen in random incident at Findon, man charged, man charged with second incident

A man has been arrested and charged after a woman was randomly stabbed in the abdomens at a Findon supermarket carpark. Police have linked the offender to another incident in May, and charged him for the second stabbing.

A man has been arrested after a woman was stabbed in the abdomen in a random assault at a Findon supermarket carpark.

Around 7.30am on Friday the woman was stabbed by an unknown man.

The victim, a woman in her 50s, was not seriously injured in the attack and sustained a minor cut to the abdomen. She did not require further medical treatment.

The suspect fled from the scene on foot.

Police searched the area and doorknocked nearby properties with police dog Jax.

Crime scene investigators have examined the carpark for further evidence.

Officers arrested a 22-year-old Findon man nearby around 11am.

Later that day, police linked the Friday stabbing to the alleged stabbing of a 79-year-old man on May 25, also at Findon.

He was charged with two counts of aggravated assault. The man was refused police bail, and is expected to appear in the Port Adelaide Magistrates Court on Monday.

It follows an earlier incident this week, where a woman was taken to hospital after a domestic incident where a man allegedly stabbed her in the back in Port Lincoln.

The incident occurred just after 9am Friday at a house on Third Ave. Police say the woman was stabbed in the back by a man known to her.

She was taken to hospital in a stable condition.

The suspect, a 20-year-old Seacombe Gardens man, was arrested at the scene and charged with aggravated assault causing harm. He was refused bail to appear in court on Friday.
