MAN HURT IN BBQ EXPLOSION
A man sustained serious injuries after a barbeque reportedly blew up at Trott Park.
The man, 31, suffered burns to his eyes and arms after the incident which occurred just before 12pm today on Lemon Rd.
Fire crews and paramedics are at the scene.

NINE CARS DAMAGED IN ALLEGED RAMPAGE
A man has been arrested for allegedly snapping the side mirrors from nine different cars at a city car dealership this morning.
Police responded to reports the man, 50, of no fixed address, was smashing windows at Budget Car and Truck Rental on Frome St around 5.45am Saturday.
The alleged offender was located in a nearby carpark – arrested and charged with property damage.
He was refused police bail, to appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on Monday.
No windows were smashed in the incident.
Budget Car and Truck Rental declined to comment.
POLICE OPERATION IN PORT AUGUSTA
A man has been arrested and three others reported after a two day police operation uncovered drugs, stolen goods and large sums of cash in Port Augusta.
Operation Aird saw officers and members of SAPOL’s Dog Operations Unit target the sale and supply of illicit drugs in the Port Augusta region.
Four homes were searched during the operation.
Around $60,000 worth of suspects stolen power tools was uncovered, while about $60,000 in cash was found concealed in the roof space of a home.
Cannabis, cannabis seeds and drug equipment was also located.
A 48-year-old Port Augusta man was arrested and charged with four counts of theft and possessing a controlled drug.
He was bailed to appear in the Port Adelaide Magistrates Court in October.
A 56-year-old and 23-year-old man both from Port Augusta were reported for unlawful possession of $60,000.
A 29-year-old Port Augusta man was reported for possessing cannabis and possessing cannabis seeds.
The three men reported will appear in court at a later date.
FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 11
ROAD RAGE ON PRINCES HIGHWAY
Police are hoping witnesses will come forward to a road rage incident on the Princes Hwy, where a row led to a car losing control and ending up on the verge.
Police say the incident involved a Black BMW 2015 and a white 2003 Mitsubishi Magna. They say the two drivers had an altercation on the highway at Murray Bridge, which resulted in the driver of the BMW losing control, crossing over the carriageway and landing on the verge.
Police witnessed the BMW losing control but did not see the altercation.
The driver of the Magna, a 53-year-old Tailem Bend man was drug tested, and returned a positive result to cannabis. Anyone who witnessed two cars driving erratically on the Princes Hwy around 3pm is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
WOMAN IN HOSPITAL AFTER PORT LINCOLN STABBING
A woman has been taken to hospital after a domestic incident where a man allegedly stabbed her in the back in Port Lincoln. The incident occurred just after 9am Friday at a house on Third Ave. Police say the woman was stabbed in the back by a man known to her.
She was taken to hospital in a stable condition.
The suspect, a 20-year-old Seacombe Gardens man, was arrested at the scene and charged with aggravated assault causing harm. He was refused bail to appear in court later today.
L-PLATER CAUGHT THREE TIMES OVER THE LIMIT
A learner driver has been reported for a string of offences after she was caught driving nearly three times over the legal blood alcohol limit on Monday night at Whyalla Stuart.
The woman was stopped by police when she was seen driving without headlights about 8.40pm Monday.
The 32-year-old Whyalla Stuart woman was on her learner’s permit, and didn’t have an instructing driver in the car with her. She allegedly returned a blood alcohol reading of 0.142, nearly three times over the legal limit of 0.05. She was reported for drink driving, driving an unregistered and uninsured vehicle, two counts of contravening conditions of the learner’s permit, driving without headlights at night, and failing to carry a licence.
Her vehicle was impounded for 28 days, and she was issued a six-month loss of licence.
She will appear in court at a later date.
WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 9
MORE ARRESTS OVER DRUG LAB
Police have arrested three more people over a sophisticated, large-scale clandestine methamphetamine lab found in Morphett Vale on August 18.
A storage shed at a property on Cocks Ave was searched on August 19 and four people were arrested. Police also searched other properties at Panorama, Clovelly Park and Mitchell Park.
On Monday, Organised Crime Branch detectives arrested a 22-year-old man from Lockleys and charged him with taking part in the manufacture of a large commercial quantity of a controlled drug, possessing prescribed equipment and possessing dangerous articles.
He appeared in the Adelaide Magistrates Court and was remanded in custody until December.
On Wednesday detectives arrested another two 22-year-old men, from Mitchell Park and Clovelly Park.
They were both charged with taking part in the manufacture of a large commercial quantity of a controlled drug and bailed to reappear in court in October.
The investigation is ongoing and police have not ruled out further searches or arrests.
The lab was capable of producing 120kg of methamphetamine a week and police said it belonged to a sophisticated criminal syndicate with links across Australia and possibly overseas.
About $4 million worth of methamphetamine oil – awaiting the final stage of production to be crystallised – was uncovered.

ARREST OVER METH FIND
A man has been charged with commercial drug trafficking after detectives found 1.5kg of meth allegedly inside his car at Wynn Vale.
Officers from the Crime Gangs Task Force searched the man’s vehicle as part of an ongoing investigation on August 18.
It is alleged they found 1.5kg of methamphetamine inside.
On Wednesday, police arrived at a Burton house and arrested a 38-year-old man living at the property.
He was charged with trafficking a large commercial quantity of a controlled drug.
FATAL CRASH AT PARACOMBE
A man has died after crashing his motorbike at Paracombe.
The man, 31, of Blakeview, crashed on North East Road just after 12pm today.
He died a short time later in hospital.
DRIVER DIES IN CUMMINS CRASH
A 19-year-old woman has died after her car crashed into a tree on Warrow Rd about 11km from Cummins around 7am Wednesday.
Major Crash Investigators have been advised to attend from Adelaide.
TWO ARRESTED OVER DELIVERY DRIVER ROBBERY
Two men have been arrested after allegedly stealing a car from a food delivery driver while he was making a delivery at Mile End.
The victim left his car running while making the food delivery on Parker Street around 12.45am Wednesday. Police say two men took off in the white 2007 BMW.
The victim returned to his car to find it had disappeared.
CCTV was reviewed by police and identified the suspects. They later arrested two men at a Mile End house around 2am.
A 26-year-old and 36-year-old, both from Mile End were arrested and charged with illegal use of the car and theft of personal items from the car.
The stolen car was located nearby in Kintore Lane where it was seized for forensic examination. Police are still looking for some of the stolen items.
The two men were remanded in custody to appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court today.
TWO IN HOSPITAL AFTER VIRGINIA CRASH
Two drivers are in hospital following a two-car crash at Virginia this morning.
The Ford Territory was travelling north on King Road, while a Holden Captiva was travelling east on Penfield Road, when they collided at right angles around 5am, police say.
The Ford driver, a 39-year-old Parafield Gardens woman and the Holden driver, a 35-year-old Blakeview man were both taken to the Lyell McEwin Hospital. Their injuries are not considered life threatening. Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
Both vehicles were towed from the scene.
TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 8
TWO FIRES IN ONE DAY AT SAME HOME
A home in Elizabeth has been extensively damaged after a fire spread through its roof on Tuesday afternoon – the second blaze to start at the property in just a matter of hours.
The first fire started in the Shipton Street home’s kitchen just before 1pm. It was quickly extinguished and no one was injured.
Then just after 3.30pm, a larger fire broke out at the home, with flames completely destroying the roof space. A bedroom was severely damaged by smoke and heat.
It took 12 firefighters about 15 minutes to control the blaze. No one was home at the time.
The exact cause is unknown, but an MFS spokeswoman said it is unrelated to the first kitchen fire.

MAN ARRESTED OVER SUSPECTED STOLEN GOLD BULLION
A man has been remanded in custody after police found him allegedly in possession of suspected stolen gold bullion worth about $20,000.
Police are now trying to identify the owner of the bullion, which consists of seven square shaped ounce pieces and five round half-ounce pieces.
A Parkside man, 42, was arrested at 3.45am on September 2 and charged with unlawful possession. He has been remanded in custody.
Eastern Adelaide detectives are seeking help from members of the public who may have knowledge of the theft or can identify the owner.

THREE POLICE OFFICERS ASSAULTED IN SERVO ALTERCATION
A police officer was punched in the face, and two others were spat at in a violent arrest at an Elizabeth South service station on Monday night.
Four young women were reported to have attempted to steal items from the service station on Philip Highway around midnight on Monday.
Police say they became aggressive when confronted by staff, and allegedly assaulted them. When police arrived, the youngest of the group, a 15-year-old Mansfield Park girl allegedly assaulted one of the officers by punching them in the face, and spat on two others.
All four women, aged 15, 20, 23, and 23 were all arrested and charged with aggravated affray, assaulting the staff member, and theft. The 15-year-old was further charged with assaulting a police officer.
The officer sustained minor face injuries after the assault.
The girl was refused police bail to appear at the Elizabeth Magistrates Court today.
The other three, from Ingle Farm and Findon, were bailed to appear in court on October 22.
WOMAN SEVEN TIMES OVER THE LIMIT AT GEPPS CROSS
A woman who blew more than seven times over the legal blood alcohol has been reported after crashing her car at Gepps Cross on Saturday.
Her Holden collided with the kerb on Main North Road after 4.30pm on Saturday.
The 36-year-old Athelstone woman was located nearby and recorded a blood alcohol reading of 0.363, more than seven times over the legal blood alcohol limit of 0.05.
She was reported for exceeding the prescribed concentration of alcohol, and driving without due care. The woman was issued an immediate loss of licence for 12 months, and her car was impounded for 28 days. She will appear in court at a later date.
MAN CHARGED AFTER WOODSIDE CRASH
A man has been arrested after doing a burnout and crashing into a business at Woodside.
A blue Commodore was reported to have done the burnout on Onkaparinga Valley Road, before losing control and crashing into a business nearby, The man then drove off and stopped near the Woodside Police Station, where he was arrested, police say.
The driver, a 37-year-old Woodside man, was breath tested and allegedly recorded a blood alcohol limit of 0.155, more than three times over the legal blood alcohol limit of 0.05.
He was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, drink driving, aggravated driving without due care, and property damage. His driver’s licence was disqualified for 12 months, and his car was impounded for 28 days.
He was bailed to appear in the Mount Barker Magistrates Court at a later date.

STABBING AT ELIZABETH DOWNS, TWO IN HOSPITAL
Two men are in hospital and another has been arrested after a stabbing at Elizabeth Downs on Sunday night.
Police were called to the Midway Tavern last night after reports of a fight taking place in the front bar.
Two men suffered injuries in the fight, a 28-year-old was stabbed in the abdomen, and a 26-year-old man suffered a stab wound to the face and arm. Both victims, from Elizabeth Park, were taken to the Royal Adelaide Hospital for treatment. Their injuries are not considered life-threatening.
A 21-year-old Elizabeth Park man was arrested about an hour later when he returned to the tavern. He has been charged with two counts of aggravated causing harm, affray, and property damage. He was remanded to appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court today.
The Midway Tavern declined to comment.
HOUSE FIRE AT ELIZABETH NORTH
Fire-cause investigators are treating a fire that broke out at an Elizabeth North house overnight as suspicious.
The started at the vacant house in Laverstock Road around 3.30am Monday.
Nearby resident Renai Richardson said she came outside this morning to find fire crews trying to cut through the fence of a property that was ablaze to control the fire.
“I said to the cop, should we get ready to get out?” Ms Richardson said.
Ms Richardson said it was scary to think someone may have lit the fire on purpose.
“It’s pretty inconsiderate and scary … I’ve got kids.”
Fire crews attended the scene to control the blaze, which caused about $150,000 damage.
Fire cause investigators are returning to the scene today but the cause is undetermined.
Investigations are continuing, and detectives are treating it as suspicious.

THIRD PERSON CHARGED OVER ELIZABETH ROBBERY
A third person has been arrested after an aggravated robbery last week, where a woman was allegedly assaulted in a carpark before her car was stolen.
The victim, a 40-year-old Munno Para woman was in the carpark of the Elizabeth Shopping Centre around 4pm Wednesday, September 2, when she was approached by two women.
The two females allegedly assaulted her, before stealing her keys to a white 2019 Isuzu 4WD before driving off, police say.
The woman was taken to the Lyell McEwin Hospital for treatment.
The stolen vehicle was seen doing a petrol drive off at a service station on Henley Beach Road, Underdale, around 7.30pm the same day, where $40 worth of fuel was stolen.
The car was set alight in a carpark at the North Haven Football Club around 10pm the same day.
Witnesses reported two teenage girls were seen walking from the vehicle after the fire.
A 15-year-old Plympton girl was arrested and charged with aggravated robbery and arson on Thursday. She was refused bail and appeared in Youth Court on Friday.
A 39-year-old Novar Gardens woman was also arrested and charged with assisting an offender. She was bailed to appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court in October.
Police went to a Norwood address and arrested a third suspect, a 16-year-old Oakden girl on Sunday. She was refused bail to appear in the Adelaide Youth Court on Tuesday.
DRIVER FOUR TIMES OVER CRASHES INTO PARKED CAR AND FENCE
A man who blew four times over the legal alcohol limit has been reported after he crashed his car into a parked car and fence at Millicent over the weekend.
The sole occupant of the vehicle, a 27-year-old local man crashed his car on Mount Gambier Road just after 1am Saturday. The driver was not injured in the crash.
He submitted a breath test and returned a positive reading of 0.250, four times over the legal blood alcohol limit of 0.05.
The man was reported for aggravated driving without due care, and drink driving.
His car was impounded for 28 days. He will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date.
SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 6
TWO ARRESTED OVER TAPEROO STABBING
Two people have been arrested after allegedly stabbing a man in his stomach at Taperoo on Saturday night.
A 39-year-old Taperoo man was assaulted on Victoria Road near Kenmare Street about 11.30pm.
He suffered a stab wound to his abdomen and was taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, where he is being treated for non life-threatening injuries.
Police arrested a 23-year-old man and a 56-year-old woman, both from Taperoo, and charged them with aggravated assault causing harm.
The pair was granted bail to appear in the Port Adelaide Magistrates Court in November.
All three people are known to each other.

TRUCK FIRE ON AUGUSTA HWY
A truck carrying paint cans has burst into flames on the Augusta Highway.
The fire started near Horrocks Pass Road, about 20km south of Port Augusta, about 8am on Sunday.
The road was completely closed for about two hours, but one lane reopened just after 10am.
No one was injured.
MAN ASSAULTED WITH AXE
A man is in a serious condition after he was attacked with an axe at Elizabeth Downs on Saturday morning.
Police say the man, 28, of Paralowie, was assaulted near Campbell Road about 3.45am.
He suffered a serious head injuries after he was hit with an axe.
The victim made it to a friend’s house and was taken to the Lyell McEwin Hospital before being transferred to the Royal Adelaide Hospital for surgery.
He remains in a serious condition.
Just before 10.30am on Saturday, police arrested an Elizabeth Downs man, 31, over the attack.
He was charged with aggravated assault causing harm and will appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court on Monday after being refused bail.
Police are calling for any witnesses to come forward. The suspect was wearing a distinctive orange hi-vis jacket and dark coloured tracksuit pants at the time of his arrest.
He may have been wearing something different when he allegedly attacked the victim.

CAR ROLLS ON WYNN VALE OVAL
Five people have escaped serious injuries after a Ford wagon rolled over on a school oval at Wynn Vale on Sunday morning.
The driver of the car, a 25-year-old Campbelltown man, rolled the vehicle about 12.30am.
The driver and four passengers escaped unharmed.
Police say the driver claimed he was towing another car when he lost control of his vehicle.
