Residents of an apartment block where a young man fell to his death on Friday are traumatised by the accident, the land agent said.
Police believe the 27-year-old, who died at the scene, was attempting to climb to an adjoining balcony at Central Adelaide apartments on Grote St around 12.45am Friday.

He fell from the 17th floor of the apartment block.
Executive director for Munro Property Group, the land agent for the building, Joshua Baldwin, said they have been working closely with the police, family and residents of Central Adelaide apartments.
“Understandably many residents are traumatised by the accident and have informed me that they are distressed about the incident,” Mr Baldwin said.
“The resident was regularly in contact with other residents at the property in the common facilities, gym, pool cinema etc and a resident commented to me that he will be missed.”
He said residents are invited to contact the building's management if they have concerns around the incident.
“It is imperative to ensure safety on balconies at all times so accidents of this nature never happen, moving into the warmer months when balconies are traditionally used as great entertaining areas it is important to ensure that they are clean, free of clutter and safe.”
Police believe there are no suspicious circumstances and are expected to return to the apartment block later on Friday to doorknock neighbours and collect CCTV.
Nina Cai lives on the same floor from which the man fell and said she didn’t hear anything last night.
“It’s terrible, terribly sad,” Ms Cai said. “I don’t know what he was trying to do, it’s very dangerous.”
Rikaaz Khalid lives on the eighth floor with his wife and said even that is high up.
“It (the 17th floor) is like one floor below the rooftop, which is absolutely terrifying,” Mr Khalid said.
He said it would be difficult to move across a balcony on the 17th floor.
“It’s very difficult to get across, it’s not an easy thing to do. It’s up to police to find out exactly what caused this death.”
Michael Noicos said he did not know someone had fallen.
“That’s scary,” Mr Noicos said.
He said climbing from the balcony was risky.
“It’s even pretty high from the 6th,” he said.
He said the rails on the balcony are chest high.
“I can’t even imagine how he did that.”
Steven Tang, another resident, arrived home around 1am this morning.
“I saw police and some doctors,” Mr Tang said. “I didn’t think any people would do that.”
